Microbiological safety expert | Focus on Campylobacter | | |  Mindaugas Malakauskas (DVM, MSc, PhD) is associated professor and head of the Department of Food safety and Animal Hygiene at Lithuanian Veterinary Academy (LVA). He is responsible scientist for the development of Microbiological Food Safety research at LVA. His research focuses on Campylobacter epidemiology and molecular characterization along the broiler meat production chain. Currently his research is focused on characterization of C. jejuni strains with respect to physiology and survival under different conditions from the broiler farm through the slaughter chain to the final product. He has experience in participating and coordinating EU funded projects: participated in FP5 “Trichiporse”, is national coordinator of FP6 project Biotracer (2007-2010) in Lithuania.
